1.
I never thought I'd feel this distance from the back room on Townsend Street. Years of practice, of watching others find their exit. The vibrations rewrote our melodies. Did I fail the freeze-out protocols of the night? And if it's all the same to you, I'd rather walk than follow through. Please remember we poured our lives into the folds created in the spaces where time stood still. I couldn't leave those worlds behind, I built them brick by brick, stood up inside my mind. It's all true, they're standing there as new and it's where I get my topological view. So if it's all the same to you, I'd rather walk than follow through.
2.
Up in the north woods, where they grow the headlines, there were people standing across the road as I attempted to drive by. Yes in the north woods, where they found my body, underneath the same moon and sky and you and I lie. We go on. We pass on. 'Played in a band once,' I muttered, 'and I thought we were good. People came to see us, maybe more than they should.' 'I thought I knew you,' he said, 'I thought I recognised your face, couldn't place it for the years have tolls that we must all pay.' As if it mattered, as if it made a difference. As if it changed the motivation triggered in that instance. As if the glimmer of the space we'd once shared would have changed anything between us on the road there. We go on. Let us pass on.

about

On his second release as No Bother, Dublin based artist and musician Paddy Lynch finds himself simultaneously looking back and forward.

Find the Exit examines the moment of knowing when it's time to move on to better things, be that from a frame of mind, a job, a toxic relationship, or a social scene while still honouring how that experience once served a purpose.

It channels this idea through reflections on the Dublin underground punk scene of the 1990s into the simple pleasures of a climactic guitar solo. Power-pop rocking out embraces the lo-fi limitations of a home recording setup.

B-side, The North Woods, is an altogether different affair. On this spacious atmospheric number, rumbling first-take warts-and-all basslines wander about trying to find a path home like the murdered ghosts of the Miami Showband alluded to in the lyrics.

No Bothers sound is still unashamedly rooted in guitar based indie and alternative rock but listen closely for some subtle colouring outside of these lines.
